1100 World War II Veterans

The rain on the mall made a melancholy event even more so. I don't think I would have appreciated what I saw half as well, if not for the rain.

I took this picture for my father, because he was also a Sea-Bee. The text didn't turn out well, and I did not write this man's name down. What I do remember is that I was at the Memorial on May 30th, 2004. The man in this picture died on May 25, 2004. World War II Veterans are dying at a rate of 1,100 a day.
